PROJECT BB
In support of the UN Sustainable Development Goal of ‘Responsible Consumption & Production’
At Provest, we recognize the importance of environmental responsibility and the impact our operations can have on the planet. One area where we are actively contributing to sustainability efforts is in reducing bulk bag manufacturing.
Through our initiative called Project BB, we are dedicated to recovering every bulk bag used underground. The primary goal of this project is to significantly reduce the need for new bulk bag purchases, thereby minimizing the environmental impact associated with their production.
Bulk bags contain various materials, including harmful chemicals and resins, which necessitate large-scale production processes. These processes contribute to global warming and other environmental challenges. By reducing the demand for new bulk bags, we are helping to mitigate these adverse effects on the environment.

Our expert team focuses on mitigating the top five workplace risks, aligning our efforts with the principles of Sections 22 and 23 of the Mine Health and Safety Act.
We actively encourage bottom-up incident reporting, using this valuable feedback to identify areas for behavior or systems improvement on a weekly basis.
Our safety compliance system is designed to contribute to a zero-harm environment. Each site manager and supervisor compiles a monthly safety roster with predetermined indicators, ensuring a proactive approach to safety.
We conduct comprehensive monthly audits, both on the surface and underground, to measure compliance with safety standards.
The outcomes of our audits, safety performance, and environmental considerations are discussed at our monthly Group Exco meetings. Here, solutions and actions are devised to address any non-compliance, ensuring a swift and effective response.
